Some ways are more explicit, while some are more safe, but it all depends on the sex workers preferences and what amount of risk they are willing to take.
Today, let’s go over a few of these industries and how they have changed over time into what it looks like today. I hope this helps society understand the differences a little bit more. I also want to discuss how we can help give sex workers a more safe environment, no matter the choice of work.

The porn industry has changed drastically over the last decade. As the internet developed so did the porn industry. In 2007, Pornhub and IPhones were both launched creating an entire new world for porn. Porn was now accessible to anyone on their cell phones. They can watch it anywhere, at any time… for free!
Hundreds of thousands of people were uploading free videos to Pornhub. This made it very difficult for porn stars to make a lot of money in the industry. They were now just another anonymous person in a video. Also, porn stars are not getting paid what they deserve since it became more popular. Anyone could participate in porn films at this point.
As Pornhub became more mainstream, it allowed anyone to upload low budget porn films. This means the on site filming regulations went down the drain. Underaged, rape, and violent porn videos are now uploaded and people all over the world watch them and don’t question it.
You can help these amazing sex workers by paying for porn that you watch or paying adult content creators directly. This will support the sex workers and give them a safe platform to work. It’s hard to think we can change the entire industry ourselves, but changing the way you watch porn weekly/daily can really change at least one sex workers life! If we pay for our porn or pay sex workers, it’s more money that they can use to have an agent (especially when they are very young), have a safe place to film, and more money for proper self care and doctors appointments for frequent tests when needed.
This is real work, it’s a real job. They deserve to be paid very well for what they do.
Prostitution

Prostitution is one of the most dangerous sex work industries. These workers are shamed throughout this country and are criminally charged for having consensual sex for money. They are usually street walking, in clubs and casinos, in hotels, brothels or using an online platform or profile to find clients. Because this work is illegal, sex workers do not have a safe place to perform their job. These workers can be high risk victims and should be able to work freely and safely. This industry is being pushed further underground which is extremely unsafe for prostitutes.
But we have some exciting news in the prostitution industry this week!!!

Sugar Dating!
This industry is very popular yet isn’t really talked about.
Sugar dating is when a wealthy person (usually a sugar daddy) provides mentorship or financial assistance to a sugar baby. This seems just like a “normal” relationship. They can go on dates, spend time together and be intimate if they both want.
There was a website/app called Seeking Arrangement that was the leading website for sugar dating for a long time! The sugar daddies would pay monthly subscriptions to use the platform. They would put in their net worth, annual income, write a short bio about what they are looking for and a description of themselves and then the sugar babies would message them if interested. With the subscriptions, they were able to do background checks. This created a safer environment as well.
I was on this app for a while because it would bring wealthy clients into the strip clubs to see me! Anyone who made half a million dollars a year or more was top of my list.
Now I have been told by my pole dancing clients and an ex sugar daddy that Tinder is the new app to use for sugar dating! I checked it out and it seems like a lot of people are putting little code words in their bios to let others know they are sugar dating. It doesn’t have their financial information but you can usually find out an estimate by asking what they do for work!
Most sugar daddies are looking for a sexual connection and not just dinner dates. Escorts are more for dinner dates, and events. Sugar babies are more for sexual favors and emotional connections. Sometimes you can get lucky and find someone who doesn’t want any sexual favors and only wants to have someone around and build a connection with them. Usually these people are lonely and want to pay someone to be in a relationship with them.
Sometimes people confuse sugar dating with escorting. Sugar babies are usually getting paid to be someone’s significant other in some way. Escorts work hourly or hired for events and trips.

My ex sugar daddy took me on a very extravagant Vegas trip for my birthday a few years ago! It was a taste of wealth that I hadn’t experienced before. It was so much fun and one of the best memories I have from working in the sex work industry.
But this came with a price. I had to work hard in making this person trust me, respect me, value me, and most importantly love me. He cared for me deeply, and I made sure to build an emotional bond with him. I, personally, didn’t feel anything and left all my emotions out of it but I made him believe that I was emotionally connected to him. That was my hustle. Make your clients believe that what you have is real, and they will pay you the big bucks. He paid every single bill I had, gave me an allowance every week and made sure my savings account was looking great at all times. I only saw him once a week or maybe every other week for dates and sometimes vacations.
Sugar dating can be so much fun! Just remember to be safe and smart about your decisions and also have an exit strategy. You can make an endless amount of money in this industry, but make sure it’s worth it by keeping yourself safe and healthy.
